Description

Taxis arrive at Stormont in a protest.

Black Taxis are a familiar sight around Belfast. In West Belfast, they operate as a bus service, following set routes and carrying multiple passengers.

Industrial action and protest was on the rise in Northern Ireland at this time. Although we are not sure what this particular protest was about specifically, it may be linked to the industrial unrest associated with the Ulster Transport Authority and the Beechings Report that changed the role of public transport.
