Good Evening Ulster reports in 1986 on Georgia
Stubbington, who is hoping to compete in the Eventing World Championships in
Australia. She explains that no funds were forthcoming from Ireland to send her
to the championships, so she is having to pay for the costs of attending the
event herself. Only a contribution from the authorities in Australia for
transporting her horse, Kells, will make the trip possible at all.
Having
started riding at the age of two, Georgia has won a number of medals riding in
team three-day eventing. Although she worries about the stress of flying her
horse to the other side of the world, she is determined to be an ambassador for
the sport in Ireland.
