Description

Gerry Kelly meets trade union activist and peer, May Blood.May talks about her community work, her history at the mills, and her passion for integrated education. An indomitable woman with a relentless work ethic, May offers a concise analysis of the history of the Shankill. She also discusses why her father might not be quite as proud of her as Gerry assumes, and how confused she was when offered her peerage. After going home and mopping the floor, though, she bit the bullet and headed off to Westminster, which she also discusses here.
