Description

Montage featuring archival film of Bangor, County Down.

The song tells a story of poetic childhood memories in Bangor, particularly on the seaside and in the Pickie Pool. The second part recalls holidays in the Isles of Scilly, as rock formations and underwater scenes play over.

‘When I was a Child’ is a verbatim song, creatively documenting and re-telling the ideas and stories of Abbeyfield Belfast residents, in their own words.

In collaboration with Abbeyfield Belfast and Open Arts, supported by the Arts & Older People Programme.

Credits

Song written and performed by Fionnuala Faga-Thiébot, with Clare Galway on piano and backing vocals.

Recorded at Tree Song Studios with Michael Mormecha
