Description

Kate Smith reports on a special day event for the elderly in Belfast, where hundreds gather to be entertained by old songs and then relax with a spot of yoga! There are many stalls offering information on various schemes and devices such as heating for the home and special telephones - all part of making life easier for the elderly in the 1980s. Leaflets are available with simple messages about eating well and keeping mobile along with brochures for holiday services for those in retirement. A representative of Age Concern is on hand to talk to Kate about the driving force behind the campaign of keeping the elderly active in society.
