A different view of the RAC Tourist Trophy race on the 23rd of August 1930. Racing cars hurtle around the road circuit as policemen keep watch. A Dunlop sign is visible and the Daily Mail seems to be sponsoring the race, a major event in Northern Ireland. The Tourist Trophy, or TT race, took place annually in Newtownards from 1928, largely due to the influence of Harry Ferguson, a keen supporter of racing. The famous Newtownards circuit was abandoned later in 1936 after a tragic motor racing accident.
