Description

In the 1980s songs by football squads were all the rage, memorably so with teams like Tottenham Hotspur and their FA Cup Final songs. Northern Ireland got in on the act with Dana for the catchy When Yer Man Gets the Ball for the 1982 World Cup in Spain. That was one of just five songs devoted to Northern Ireland and released as singles that summer and which also included Sammy Mackie’s I’m Yer Man. In 1986 the squad reassembled with some UTV celebrities to record another song, this time for Mexico 86. Altogether now, Come On Northern Ireland, Come On.
