Description

Ulster Unionist leader James Molyneaux speaks to Norman Stockton for Good Evening Ulster about the violence which erupted at Maryfield at the conclusion of the Londonderry to Belfast protest march. A complex there is being used by the Anglo-Irish Secretariat, set up under the recent Anglo-Irish Agreement. The protesters marched all the way from Derry/Londonderry to protest outside the gates, which saw a violent confrontation with the RUC a month before.

This occasion saw increased violence with a deliberate attempt by some to break through the gates and over 20 policemen hurt. Molyneaux is clearly appalled by what happened and condemns it in no uncertain terms.
