Description

The leaders of the Ulster Unionist Party and DUP, James Molyneaux and Ian Paisley, hold a joint press conference at UUP headquarters, ahead of the one-day strike to protest against the Anglo-Irish Agreement. Molyneaux goes out of his way to appeal to all supporting the strike to remain peaceful at all times and to avoid confrontation with the police. Paisley is realistic about the short-term effects of the strike but hopes that in the long-term it will help to have the Agreement overturned. Tom King, secretary of state for Northern Ireland, is also interviewed about the situation.
