To mark six months of the protests against the
Anglo-Irish Agreement, a number of Unionist politicians staged a takeover of
the switchboard room at Stormont parliament buildings. This UTV report for Good
Evening Ulster shows DUP members such as Peter Robinson and Jim Allister
occupying the room, which is beneath street level, so the camera shoots down
through a pavement window.
As police gather
outside, Mr Robinson stands on a platform to communicate with reporter Norman
Stockton his reasons for the occupation. When the police eventually break down
the door to the room the protestors leave, and Robinson gives a more
conventional interview with Stockton outside Stormont.
