Description

Ivan Little reports for Good Evening Ulster on a one-day strike held by loyalist workers in protest against the Anglo-Irish Agreement. There are reports of power cuts after power station workers go on strike and Ian Paisley is interviewed beside roadblocks. One angry civil servant voices his anger at the police who wouldn't help him to get through the picket lines.

Peter Robinson is interviewed and suggests that the blocking off of the M1 motorway may have been caused by a government dirty tricks unit. In Belfast city centre some businesses which have stayed open have been attacked and some cars set on fire, while violent confrontations between police and protesters also mar the strike action in other locations.
