Description

A report for Good Evening Ulster on the impact of the Anglo-Irish Agreement in the Republic of Ireland as it nears its first anniversary. At a time when all the focus regarding opinion on the Agreement is on unionists and nationalists in Northern Ireland, this report is interesting in shifting the viewpoint south. Footage is included of both the taoiseach, Dr Garret FitzGerald, and the opposition leader, Charles Haughey, speaking about the Agreement, as well as the views of a political commentator outlining what the reaction to the Agreement in the Republic.
