A rally is
held in the centre of Portadown to commemorate the death of Keith White, a
protestor of the Anglo-Irish Agreement who was killed by a plastic bullet fired
by the RUC during violent clashes two weeks earlier. Alan Wright, leader of the
Ulster Clubs organisation, speaks at the rally, accusing the government of
being responsible for his death through their support of the Agreement.
Wright is interviewed by Ivan Little for Good Evening Ulster, and suggests that the use of plastic bullets should be outlawed. Shipyard workers at Harland and Wolff leave work for a service conducted on the Sydenham Bypass by Ian Paisley in memory of Mr White, with Paisley calling upon the community not to engage in any acts of retaliation against the police forces.
