Description

Sharon Hall reports for UTV Live on a day of developing drama at the peace talks at Stormont as the clock ticks down the hours towards the midnight deadline. Negotiations are described as a cliff-hanger, as John Hume takes some time out for a walkabout. Gerry Adams tells the press that the British and Irish governments have already agreed on a deal and that it is now up for all the parties to come round to it, as he accuses the Unionists of trying to unpick the deal.

Monica McWilliams of the Women's Coalition makes an emotional plea for the deal to go ahead, but says she is convinced that it will. However, with a long history of intense disagreement between the various parties no one can be certain that the deal will get over the line in the remaining hours.
