Description

1998 is the first year in which a St Patrick's Day Parade has been given permission to proceed through Belfast city centre. In a country full of marches this might seem unusual, but it is a sure sign that work on the peace talks at Stormont is building bridges of inclusivity.

Not everyone is happy with the march, particularly with the abundance of Irish flags on show, but it is a sign of something happening in Northern Ireland which could never have been imagined previously. Caitriona Ruane of Sinn Féin is interviewed by Sharon Hall for this report for UTV Live.
