Description

A UTV report by Jane Loughrey on the announcement that David Trimble and John Hume have jointly been awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace. At a press conference, Hume says he is honoured but sees it as an award for all the people of Northern Ireland. There is footage of a previous winner from Northern Ireland and some highlights of the peace process, including the famous footage of Bono lifting the arms of Trimble and Hume on stage.

Mo Mowlam speaks to the press and says the award is well deserved, a feeling shared by Mitchell McLaughlin. However, the DUP's Peter Robinson accuses Trimble of having sold out.
