Description

In the aftermath of the killing of two RUC officers in Lurgan by the IRA, there are fears that it might provoke the loyalist organisations into renewed violence. Gary McMichael and David Adams (political representatives of loyalist paramilitaries) are both interviewed for this UTV Live report by Shane Glynn as they urge loyalists to keep to their ceasefires.

Gerry Adams also speaks, voicing his regret at the killings. David Trimble, meanwhile, suggests that there should be no prospect of talking to Sinn Fein in the circumstances, a view echoed by Gregory Campbell of the DUP and Bob McCartney of the UKUP.
