Description

As negotiations on the final day of peace talks at Stormont continued long into the night, Ian Paisley of the DUP turned up to launch a protest to what was going on. Initially barred entry, he and a group of demonstrators breached the security and marched on Castle Buildings. There he was confronted by Dr Joe Hendron of the SDLP. Paisley and the protestors were eventually dispersed from the area and they left the grounds of Stormont.

Paisley claimed to the cameras to have no knowledge of the protestors and that they must be UDP supporters who were looking for trouble. However, he joined them in walking down the driveway from Stormont while the negotiations on a peace deal were reaching a conclusion inside.
