Description

Ken Reid reports for UTV Live on ongoing dialogue between the UK and USA on the peace process, including footage of the Clintons meeting the Blairs outside Downing Street. The strengthening relationship between the two leaders will prove to be a boost to the peace process and Reid speaks to Senator Mitchell, Clinton's man on the ground at the peace talks, about the thorny issues to be tackled, including weapons decommissioning.

Mitchell remains confident that the issue of weapons can be dealt with, but warns, "I think everyone will have to take a risk for peace. No one in a divided society can get their way completely and totally. So, the key is to find a compromise without the surrender of conviction or principle." Throughout the interview he gives assurances that he is committed to finding a way to break through the deadlock and not to give up on peace.
