Description

UTV Live report by Letitia Fitzpatrick on the announcement that an International Commission on Decommissioning is to be set up. Mo Mowlam announces the initiative ahead of all-party talks resuming on 15 September. Canadian General John de Chastelain is one person in the frame to sit on the body which will run in tandem with the three strands of talks. Mowlam also reaches out to Unionist politicians to engage in the talks which, following the IRA's ceasefire, are expected to include Sinn Fein for the first time. Mitchell McLaughlin of Sinn Fein is also interviewed and also reaches out to David Trimble.
