Description

Ken Reid reports from Stormont for UTV Live on the first day of the start of new talks open to all parties. Senator George Mitchell, Paul Murphy of the British government and Seamus Mallon are interviewed, with all displaying optimism at what can be achieved. Meanwhile, Gerry Adams holds a press conference at Stormont as he enters into formal talks. There is no sign of the five Unionist parties, although it is hoped that some of them will soon be rejoining the process.
